Gilgal Gardens and Temple Square

This is the Joseph Smith sphinx at the Gilgal Gardens. The gardens were the pet project of a stone mason in the 1950s. It is a strange place.

Couples would pop out from under the back roof married. Anyone not allowed in the temple for the ceremony waits outside for them. About one couple every ten minutes... 

Leaving Chicago!

The trip was so long! It was strange spending a day and a half either napping and sitting. When the bus would make a stop, I made sure to make use of it and get out to walk and stretch even if it was 3am.

The highways in Iowa and Nebraska were quite flat and boring...
